The Warren
Rabbit Breeders Based in Somerset
These are delightful little rabbits that are suitable for children - the ideal weight for these little things is 2 - 2.5 lb - the same as a bag of sugar. They come in all colours.
When you first get your new rabbit home leave it alone and let it get its bearings - visit it regularly and speak quietly to it - after a couple of days start to handle it by gently stroking and touching - when it is no longer trying to get away from you then you can carefully start picking it up.
So many rabbits are ruined by unsympathetic treatment - if you are too rough or in too much of a hurry they will bite and scratch as that is their only defense! So resist the temptation to cuddle it to death. Careful considerate treatment in the early weeks will pay dividends later and give you a wonderful pet.

Food is a measured quantity of pellets - they tend to only pick out the bits they like if you feed muesli type food and they must have a balanced diet - hay available all the time and a limited amount of greens.
Water must be available all the time - we use water bowls as we find in hot weather they often can't be bothered and won't drink enough from drinking bottles.
Hutches should be at least 3' x 2' with access to a safe run in the garden - don't let it out loose as the local cat may make a meal of it.
Please make sure you have a good vet that knows about rabbits - in the event of your rabbit getting sick you won't have long to get good treatment for it - being so small they don't take very long to get beyond the point of no return! Do your research before your pet gets sick.
You will get lots of conflicting advice about how to look after your rabbit - we will tell you what works for us - after that it is up to you.
